On Saturday, January 20, the Duatlón by Teams Villa de Archena took place, Duathlon Regional Championship for teams of absolute category and sprint distance. A Duathlon with time trial format by teams of 4 to 6 members.
The trial opened the triathlon season in the Region of Murcia, the president of the FTRM, the mayor of Archena and the Director of Sports of the Ucam, inaugurated the sporting event that registered a high participation, with 77 teams competing and around 400 participants.
Both the regional president and the local agreed to thank the city hall for their effort and dedication in this event, as well as the sponsors, without whom, as happens in other events, it would be impossible to start the championship.
The test was divided into 3 parts: a first of 5 kilometers running, followed by the segment of 20 kilometers by bicycle, to finish with the last 2.5 km also running, toured the streets and squares of the town.
The first to take the start were the Open teams that did not choose to fight for the championship. After them, began the Regional Championship with the female category that won for the third consecutive year the Club Triatlón Murcia Unidata with a time of 1:20:15, the second of the classification were the girls of the Club Triatlón Archena Ibercombus with a time of 1:21:24, and third place went to the Primaflor Águilas Triathlon Club with 1:22:30. In the men’s category, the team of Club Triatlón Águilas Primaflor was the winner with a time of 1: 3: 49, followed by only thirty seconds of the Club Triatlón Tragamillas, the third place went to the Club Triatlón Guerrita Alcantarilla that remained only 6 seconds of the second. The teams surprised the audience with some initial dances, the favorite music of each team sounded before each departure and provided a fun touch to the event.
In this III edition, 100 volunteers collaborated that together with the Local Police, ambulances, Civil Protection and the technical team of the Department of Sports of the City Council made this championship possible.
We were present in the paddock area with our stand which many participants came to try their luck in the draw we were celebrating.
